Millions of Americans, including children, adults, and seniors, need long-term services and supports (LTSS). According to Consumer Reports, researchers have found that half of individuals who are 65 years old today will need some type of long-term care, and one in seven Americans turning 65 years old today will face over five years of needing assistance. But, it is not only aging individuals who need these long-term services and supports. Individuals under 65, including children and people with disabilities need these supports to live day-to-day in their own communities.
The Allies for Independence Communications Subcommittee has put together advocacy documents so that you can see just how important the issue of long term care/long term services and supports is and how the issue affects different populations.
